Investigation Summary

SPECS decided to branch out a bit and go to a well-known location for a night, the Colonel Ryan House in Newton, IA. This is a fairly new diamond-in-the-rough. This house has only been investigated a number of times since the first investigation in 2012, and I am proud to say the SPECS will be the last group allowed in for the foreseeable future.

This case proved to be one of our more evidence-packed cases to date. Included below are two "class A" EVPs. Both caught in the same room by the same recorder. The first we believe is of Spanish dialect. The second we believe says, "I promise it's me," but as you can hear one of our investigators is talking in the background, indicating this voice was closer to the recorder than our investigator.

Another piece of potential evidence is a thermal clip Josh caught as he turns the corner to go to the basement. What's unique here is the very dark color, which in a thermal is a very, very cold temperature, which is unusual. What makes it unique is the form it has. It appears to be the upper torso of a man in a wide-brimmed hat. I am on the fence about this. Take a look and decide for yourself.

Something else interesting is a light anomaly that was caught upstairs in the bedroom. In this clip you will see a light form that comes in the door and then disappears, only to reappears as a flash on the left side of the screen in front of the TV. This also where we experiencing bangs all night. These bangs at times seemed to be in direct rapid response to our questions. Then at other times they seemed to be random. We were unable to locate anything inside or outside the house that would cause these however. This remains inconclusive.

One final anomaly that we encountered was a streak of some unknown origin that ran the length of the stairway. You will see this in the photos of the property. The owner nor our host had seen this before. This remains inconclusive.

All in all, based upon our evidence and the evidence of other groups that correlate, we believe this place to have a high amount of paranormal activity and to be haunted.
